Comparison
Which Instagram giveaway picker should you use?
There are two families of tools. Here is how they differ, honestly — including where Pickfetti isn’t the right fit.
The two families
Login-based (official API) tools ask you to connect a Business or Creator Instagram account — usually linked to a Facebook Page — and grant comment permissions. They can read your own posts reliably and, with the right permissions, collaborator posts. The trade-offs: setup friction (personal accounts don’t work; Page admin roles confuse people), you are handing an app access to your account, and pricing is usually a monthly subscription aimed at agencies.
Public-URL tools (Pickfetti is one) read the publicly visible comments on a public post. No login, no permissions, works on any public post — including a sponsor’s. The trade-offs: private accounts can’t be read, and the comment count can be lower than Instagram’s displayed number because hidden/deleted/spam-filtered comments aren’t public.

When Pickfetti is the right choice
- You want to paste a link and be done — no Instagram login, nothing connected to your account.
- Your rules involve tagging friends, keywords, or “must follow”, and you want them actually enforced.
- You want to show entrants proof, not just a screenshot.
- You run occasional giveaways and don’t want a subscription for a once-a-quarter task.
When it isn’t
- Your account is private and you don’t want to paste comments manually.
- You need multi-platform (TikTok/YouTube/Facebook) draws in one tool.
- You need like-verification — nobody can do that reliably at scale, and we won’t pretend.
Whatever you use, insist on the essentials: it counts each person once, it enforces the rule you wrote, and it shows the entrants why someone was excluded. Read how to pick an Instagram giveaway winner for the full checklist.
